Terms of service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of service (“Terms”) are a binding contract between you and Cliyer LTD, trading as LoveRing (“LoveRing”, “we”, “us”), governing your use of the LoveRing mobile application and the website at lovering.app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy policy, and our Cookie policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who can use LoveRing

• You must be at least 18 years old, or older if the age of majority in your country is higher.
• You must be legally permitted to use the Service under the laws of your country.
• You must not be registered as a sex offender with any government authority, and you must not have been convicted of a violent or sexual offence.
• You may only maintain one account, and you may not share it with anyone else.

We monitor for underage use. If we have reason to believe you do not meet these requirements, we may ask you to verify your account, or suspend or terminate it.

3. Your account

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential. Information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date. Anonymous names and Critter avatars are assigned for fun and privacy. You remain responsible for your conduct behind them, and anonymity never excuses behaviour that breaks these Terms.

4. How the Service works

• Nearby discovery. When you choose to be visible, other visible users nearby can discover you, and you can discover them. Others see only an approximate distance, never your exact location.
• Anonymous first. New connections start with a random name and a Critter avatar.
• Play to chat. Anonymous chat unlocks once both players reach 10 points across any of the games.
• Mutual reveal. Your real profile is shown to another user only when you both explicitly agree to reveal.
• Your controls. You can go invisible, end a chat, unmatch, block, or report at any time.

Features may change over time; we may add, modify, or remove features with or without notice.

5. Community rules

You agree that you will not post, send, or share content, or behave in a way, that:

• is illegal or encourages any illegal activity;
• harms or exploits minors in any way;
• is defamatory, libellous, or infringes anyone’s rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights;
• shows another person without their consent, or discloses information you have no right to share, including screenshots or details of other users obtained through the Service;
• is harassing, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or promotes racism, sexism, hatred, or bigotry;
• is obscene, pornographic, violent, or otherwise offensive to human dignity;
• impersonates another person or is intended to deceive or manipulate, including scams, fraud, and inauthentic behaviour;
• involves commercial activity, advertising, spam, or junk messages;
• contains malware or any code designed to damage or disrupt software, hardware, or data;
• involves scraping, crawling, or copying other users’ profiles or data by any automated means;
• stalks or harasses any user, on or off the Service.

Consent matters at all times, in chat, in games, and in person. Never assume what someone is comfortable with, and respect every “no” immediately. We use human moderators and automated systems to enforce these rules and may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that break them, with or without notice.

6. Safety and real-world meetings

LoveRing connects you with strangers who are physically nearby. We do not conduct criminal background checks or verify the identity or statements of users. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, online and in person. If you choose to meet someone: meet in a public place, tell a friend where you are going, arrange your own transport, and never share financial information or send money. Anonymity and mutual reveal are tools for your comfort, not a guarantee about who someone is.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create on LoveRing (profile details, photos, messages). By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, and adapt that content solely to operate and improve the Service, for example, showing your profile to other users after a mutual reveal. You represent that you have the right to share everything you post. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

8. Our content

The Service itself, including the LoveRing name, logo, artwork, Critter presentations, games, and software, belongs to us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for its intended personal, non-commercial purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service except as permitted by law.

9. Purchases

LoveRing is currently free to download and use. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions, they will be billed through the app store you purchased from, and that store’s payment and refund terms will apply. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. You must cancel through the store.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account, or restrict access to the Service, if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably believe your conduct could harm other users or LoveRing, or where required by law. Where we can, we will tell you why, and you may appeal by contacting us.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that any user is who they claim to be, or that you will find a match. Proximity and distance indications are approximate and may be inaccurate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LoveRing and its affiliates, officers, and employees will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from your use of the Service or the conduct of other users, online or in person. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold LoveRing harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring a claim in your local courts. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable consumer rights you have under UK law, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

15. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with the Privacy policy and Cookie policy, are the entire agreement between you and LoveRing. We may update these Terms from time to time; for material changes we will give notice in the app or by email, and continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
